A Montreal State Of Mind

Puerto Rican Mike, the Dijan brothers (James & Mike), and Muttley(?)

A classic moment from the NYHC Documentary.

I remember James Dijan (aka "Malta the Damager") slammin' wild in Cold Front's set @Superbowl Of Hardcore '07. At first I didn't recognize him, but his Cold Front hockey jersey catched my eyes: a NY Rangers jersey alike but with "COLD FRONT" name on, dope!

But this is about Montreal...

Like other times, I found blogs without looking for them, sometimes I'm looking for something and found good things related to my main search. This time I was looking a song lyric from A.D.F.E.S., and the search engine listed some links and this blog: WHERE IS MY MIND?

Checked the blog and liked, Where Is My Mind? is a pictures blog, with nice pictures and film shots/pictures -like the one above. Later I realized the blog's author is Fred from A Death For Every Sin/Final Word; so then understood why it was listed on the search...

Good bands, nice images.

Friendship Strenght

This cap means a lot to me. Is a gift from one of my friends -like a brother.

A Saturday night on early-October '07, I "lost" my brand new San Francisco Giants New Era cap. The cool thing about that cap is that one had the under-visor on grey color (now are make black), so it was "on ice" until that night -for the worse.

A night that supposed to be fun, turned sour; that night I was not myself, acted like a real fool, seriously saw the Devil, and all falling apart, all I though I knew were just lies, and other demons. That night I really found the truth, the hypocrates, but most importantly: who stand for me in the sour moments.

Was late and boys said "lets go", I was too wasted, and later I realized my SF Giants cap was gooone, I "lost" it. If I was angry 'cause that turned-to-hell night, 'cause I hurt my boys with my actions, then I was mad angry 'cause the "departure" of my cap.

FUCK!!!

Next morning was a regret/remorse breakfast buffet. I did not care about what happened the night before, neither the cap, or the people I told the truth straight in their faces, only care about the boys. But redemption came, thanks for understand.

Christmas came, wounds gone, they are only scars, I don't care. I forgave those wounds; I forgave, but never forget.

Holidays in the Island are party all December until late January. So I picked up my boy to hang out, get some beers, and talk about the week and the 2008 plans (aka BNB Bowl '08/NYC trip), and Hardcore. And he gave me a bag, inside was this cap, a brand new SF Giants New Era, one of the new ones with under-visor on black. I felt a mixed feeling for a moment, then gone fast and turned to happyness, I was chill, and gave thanks, for the cap, but more important: the real meaning behind that cap, that he never told me but both know.

Thanks to my boy Fco.
(not forggeting Baez)

Thanks to my friends, PR-US.

P.S.- Bromance can suck a horse dick.

UPDATE:
Last night I rocked the cap, had a blast in a local show, lots of fun, dope.

Forever Gone

"Forever gone...
suffer in deception as you learn the hardest truth.
After all the confusion nothing seems familiar.
What has been broken for so long can never be the same.
This is how it will be until the day I die.
I can't turn back from here.
How can I save myself with one foot in the grave?
I wish I didn't know the things I fucking know.
What has been broken for so long can never be the same.
"

-A Death For Every Sin - "Forever Gone"

So true.

P.S.- Be afaid of the silence.

Wild Karaoke Friday Night

(Friday night, March 12, 2010)

From the same place that brought you "The gal with the shiny high heels"...

The night turned more weird when the karaoke started.
Always the girls gone wild, most times.

This time one girl rep, she sang well, had a good voice but a bit loud (maybe was the karaoke/sound guy). Her 3rd song ended as an all-girls song.

A bunch of girls were singing a song from Kani Garcia, "My Friend At The Bathroom", a song about a gal saying the vibrator she bought worked better than her man when she use it at the bathroom...

They were wild and out, singing-along LOUD that song...their boyfriends and husbands were at the bar drinking and watching NCCA Basketball games.

A 50/50 of funny and weirdness.

Some minutes later a guy (husband or boyfriend of one of then girls) gave a try to the karaoke, singing Jose Jose's "Ya Lo Paso Pasado", maybe an implicit answer to Kani Garcia's "dildo-feminist" anthem. In the middle of the song he asked for an applause for an engaged couple that are getting marry soon.

The night was chill, the music was decent (karaoke was 50/50, but good considering most times...), apparently ebony honeys are banned, ha.

The gal with the shiny high heels

(Friday night, March 12, 2010)

It was weird.

She was slim, not like a Slim Jim, she tight; slim tight body.
Looked like a classy gal, I think she is.

I liked a few things from her: her (black) hair , her (black) blouse , her (black) purse, and her black shiny high heels.

She was pretty (but why not dark skined?)

Listening to Freddie Joachim's "Out Of Season" (from Dust) on repeat;
get that shit fast, aight?, aight!
